That's the same question I ask myself everyday. I'm 16 and in a great relationship with my boyfriend. He loves me, I love him, and we both have discussed the "baby" issue. He wants to be a father and he says he's gonna be there for his child since his dad left him and I know that I'm going to be apart of my child's life. If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend who you know will stay in ya baby's life then that's good. No child should grow up witout a mother and a father. And you need love! Lots of love! I'm not talking about just because it's your baby you love them, but true heart-felt love. Playing with them, teaching them things, being there whenever the baby is upset, that takes alot of patience. Can you handle being woken up at 4am every day by a baby who sometimes won't stop crying for 2-3 hours? Maybe you can. I always said that even if I can't provide for my baby now, my parents will. And that's not how it should be. I would hate for my child to know I can't give him/her the things she wants. It would break my heart for them to go to someone else for toys because they know I can't afford it. It hurt me to realize all this stuff to girl, but you gotta face the facts. It really is tough. I want my child to have the best there is. A nice home, fresh clothes, hot sneakers, everything. But I know I can't give that to them now. If you truly believe that you're ready for that...then good luck! I don't believe it would be okay at all. She may have all the material things that she needs, but she is lacking the most important item of all, the maturity to be able to raise a child. She is still a child herself. My daughter who is almost 16 years old took a KIDS class where they had to keep a "simulated" baby for 4 days and 3 nights. She had hardly any sleep and absolutely no time for herself the entire time she had the "baby." I was not able to help her, she had to do this all herself. When she was able to give the "baby" back to the teacher, she was so relieved. She's a pretty tough kid, but even she said that taking care of the "baby" was the most difficult thing she has ever had to do. I told her just to think of what it would have been like if she couldn't give it back. Once you decide to have a child, you can't just give the child back.
