If your father is an elder in the Christian congregation, you should already know why Jehovah's Witnesses do not involve themselves with politics and killing other people for politics, even if you'll only be involved INDIRECTLY.
Why don't you instead try actually fighting for something that's worth your life. Like Jehovah the God The Bible speaks about? Or why don't you learn leadership development, problem solving, strategic planning, and professional ethics from the only true source of it?
And you should know better than to come to WIKIANSWERS for something like this too.

If you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses then it doesn't seem possible for you to join ROTC whether your father is an elder or not. His eldership doesn't come into the equation.
2)
If you are not a Jehovah's Witness then you have to do what you feel is best for yourself and your long term future as you see it. Again, your father's eldership shouldn't come into it. He will stand on his own two feet the same as you will have to do.
