XP points are gained for each win but skill ranking is not progressed in the same way hence you could win 5 in a row and still not rank up.

well i havnt played in couple of months but when i did i played non stop i mean halo 3 24/7 lol and i found out that if you lose 2 games or how ever many you have to win that many more i get ur highest skill up like lose 2 win 3 there ya go but its got to be in a row
