Often you wait a few months to tell friends, employers, etc. since there is a higher risk of miscarriage early in the pregnancy. These steps will get you started. If you find out you are pregnant, you'll have to consider more options: childcare, whether or not to keep the baby, etc. Remember, too, that if you decide you don't want to keep the baby, you have a lot of options, including giving it away--no questions asked--to a hospital or fire station.
