It difficult to tell if you're really interested in the father or the son. I find your remark that the son is handsome bothersome.
Some men who have been divorced may tend to raising their child(ren) and date little. Some men NEVER want to remarry again or perhaps they haven't found the right woman. The only way you are going to find out is by dating the father and get to know each other. Each man is an individual and he may not mind dating a woman that has children, while some men don't want to take the responsibility of a second family and would rather date women without children. Only by communicating can you find out how he feels.
