In the US you can count on up to $400 000 unless you adopt from foster care. Then it can cost a few hundred if you foster first. From another country it's around $500 000. In a private adoption it will be a few thousand for the lawyer and the medical care for the mother and anything else you wish to pay for. I suggest you go for a older child. If you want a baby it will take 10 years+.
