Probably the crankshaft position sensor- that is common on the 3.8 and 3.1 v6's. Hope that helps.
Answer
i think u might want to look at your fuelpump to. my car did the sam thing i had to pump the gas to get it to start. then i found out it was the fuelpump.
Answer
Most definitely the fuel pump. The crank shaft postion sensor is a possibility, but not likely. If you think it's acting bad now, wait until summer when it's hot out. You'll never get it started after the engine is hot, and even if you do, it will rin like a volkswagon, and buck like a wild bronco when you try to accelerate.
This happens because the return fuel line off of the sending unit (in the tank, integrated with the pump) is spewing vapors into your fuel system. These vapors then they make their way back to you engine, and its injectors making it run like crap, or not even starting at all. AKA - "vapor lock". Your car starts fine once the car cools. Am I right?
Possibly just the fuel filter also. If your car ran rough and bucked under acceleration before the starting problem.
