The information you provided sounds like a cry for help. In order for you to understand the direction this is headed, I have to ask a question of my own, and by asking these questions, you may or maybe not associated them with your brother's problem.

1. Are you one public assistance?

2. Is food hard to come by in your home?

3. Do you have many people in your family?

4. As a punishment, is he deprived of food or dessert?

5. Has he or your family ever been with out food staples for an extended period of time?

All these questions are related in that even in the best of times, a person that has been deprived of food or a means in which to get it suffer from a mental disorder that makes them horde or hide food in a "safe place" so as not to go with out. You find this sort of behavior in homeless and deprived people. Many of the Hurricane Katrina survivors suffered from this affliction, and only time, and therapy will help.

I am not a doctor, nor do I have a degree in psycology, but I had a nephew that suffered of this because of Katrina.
