I can't speak in any general or universal terms, but for me black and blue cohosh accelerated my labor, which was proceeding slowly but surely (and too slowly for the hospital, who put me on pitocin, prematurely - I believe).
My experience was that both black and blue cohosh helped to advance my labor.
Hope this helps others.
Black and blue cohosh tea are used to induce labor in women who are at full term pregnancy. Black and blue cohosh are used in combination for this purpose.
3x a of 500 mg Do not use black cohosh to induce labor. It thins out the blood so you bleed more during labor. If you ask your doctor he will tell you not to take anything to induce but stick to safe methods like spicy food, walks and sex.
That could bring on labor which is probably what you were trying to do. I would wait till the baby is ready.
The "big" one that even some hospitals offer is black cohosh, but use cohoshes carefully...never use blue.
My sister took black cohosh the day befor her due date and she went in to labor ten hours later. When we got to the hosbital I told the nurses that she had tooken it, and they were a little concerned because it could thin your blood and have massive blood lose during labor and or c-section.
bloody show
They are basically the same but it's just a different way of taking it. Some people complain of the taste so capsules are a good alternative. Just check the amount of cohosh in the drops and the capsules because sometimes either can be more concentrated. I heard the tea is more effective if you can stand the taste. Also I have a link saying that blue works best when taken with black, if you are trying to start labor.
