If you mean a 1986 Silver Eagle, only Proof and bullion coins were struck in that year.

From 1986 to 1992, proof Silver Eagle coins were minted at San Francisco and these coins bear the "S" mintmark and have a current retail value of $20.00.

Bullion Silver Eagle coins dated 1986 were also struck at San Francisco but do not have mintmarks, the value of these coins depends on the spot price of silver at time of sale. As of today it's about $18.30.

i believe this is a 90%silver coin and they were mostly melted down for their silver content when the weights and measures were no longer used.however they are now very scarce and highly collectable.my best guess would probably be around the 400 dollar mark.one troy pound = 12 oz silver

First off, this coin is not in troy weight so the 1 pound in Troy Weight is only 12 ounces . Take 12 times the price of silver right now and that is your answer.
