There are several features Supervisors have available to them that aren't available to regular editors. They include: * the ability to feature an unanswered question on the main page of the site; * the ability to revert an answer to a previous version without hand-editing the content; * the ability to block vandals, disallowing a particular user or IP address from editing questions & answers (this became extremely important during a recent spambot attack on the site); * the ability to merge two questions into one; * the ability to split one multi-part question into two; * the ability to protect an answer from changes, such as in the case of an "edit war"; * the ability to merge a discussion item into the answer of its question or another one. The reason many of a Supervisor's abilities aren't available to the general public is because they can be dangerous — they can mess things up big-time! Note, though, that removing portions of an answer, rewording a question, and changing the sections associated with a question are activities that all logged-in users can perform, not just Supervisors.
