Humans don't live longer than animals because humans are part of the animal kingdom. There are animals that outlive humans on average e.g Parrots & Turtles.

However Humans now have the longest average lifespan among Mammals this is due mostly to our medical advances, remember the average human lifespan in the 14th century would have been a little over 30.

That's not always the case. For dogs for instance, smaller dogs have a longer life expectancy than big dogs.
