More opportunistic kangaroos which live on suburban and semi-rural fringes will also drink it from stock animals' water troughs, Swimming Pools or buckets in backyards. Kangaroos will also drink the dew that forms on grass in the early morning.
Kangaroos inhabit areas where there is some form of permanent water, or at least semi-permanent. Like many wild animals, they have an innate sense of where water is falling, and when current supplies are running too low to sustain life much longer. They are semi-nomadic, therefore, moving to where rains have fallen or the creeks and rivers have been replenished.
