Raccoons do eat fish. You might have seen it on T.V. I asure you that it is true.
Raccoons certainly do eat fish. Many years ago, when I was still a boy, my family was staying at a summer cottage owned by my aunt, which was located on a good bass lake. My father went out fishing late one evening, and he quickly caught two good-sized bass. When he came back to shore, he put them in a bucket of water and left them in the middle of the front lawn. Then he went out again, fished until it was dark, and caught two more. When he returned, there was only one bass in the bucket. Dad put the other two bass in the bucket, then came inside to clean-up. He thought maybe one of us was playing a trick on him, or that possibly the bass had jumped out of the bucket and flipped itself back into the water. When my father was ready to go out and clean the fish, he turned on the floodlights for the front lawn. We all saw a raccoon, half in the bucket, about to steal another bass. The thief was momentarily frozen by the sudden bright lights. When it saw the bunch of us, it left in a hurry without the second course to its dinner. The next morning, we found what little was left of the first bass out behind the garage. My dad didn't leave any more fish in a bucket out on the lawn after that.
I don't think that would be possible because not many fish would be big enough to eat one and raccoons are very good swimmers.
