Yes, and there has been one Canadian athlete that has won medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. Clara Hughes won medals in speed skating at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics and medals in cycling at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Another is Hayley Wickenheiser who has played on the women's hockey team in the Winter Olympics and the softball team in the Summer Olympics.

Clara Hughes.

Clara won two bronze medals in cycling at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta and a bronze in speed skating at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City and a gold and silver in speed skating at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin.
