The best workaround is one of the simplest, it contains just 2 steps
1) Get to the screen telling you that K9 is not responding. If you are an administrator, just find the service and stop it. If you're not, just mess around with the installation until it shows you this screen (the registry might be a good place to go, otherwise just delete some files from C:\Program Files\Blue Coat K9 Web Protection).
2) Navigate to a HTTPSsite of your choice. https://facebook.com , https://www.YouTube.com/ or https://www.Google.com might be good places to start. If the site you want to go on doesn't support https, simply use a https proxy (google it). If it tells you that K9 is not responding you've probably gone to a normal http site. It will ONLY work with HTTPSsites.
Tested on Windows 7 (x64) running K9 web protection 4.2.89 on 02/05/2011
The method to disable/bypass K9 might take a while for some users, but it's relatively simple and works flawlessly.
Note: To restore the original installation, delete your new installation and rename the old folder back to what is originally was.
Another way to do this is to:
Go to "my computer", and go to your hard drive (its probably the "C" drive). Next, go to the folder called "windows". After that, go to the folder called "System32". You should find another folder called "drivers". Finally, find "bckd.sys". Once you do that MOVE IT and DO NOT DELETE IT. Make sure to move it somewhere you can remember. Once this is finished you can restart your computer and k9 will be ineffective. If you want it to be effective again, just move bckd.sys back to the "drivers" folder and restart your computer again. K9 should be working again.

Wolfs are alpha of K9.All other K9 are subgroups of wolfs.

Titanium, is used so when they bite the natural k9 teeth will not break in bite force, holding on and at impact. So Titanium is the correct answer.
The term "K9" is typically used in reference to police or military dogs, not guide dogs.Added:Actually, the term "K9" comes from the Latin word for dog, canine. I think it would be fine if you referred to a guide dog as a K9. But it would sound a little redundant.
K9 is only a abbreviation for "CA-NINE" which is a name for dogs; not a number letter classification.
