Regardless of that, it would depend on what was wrong with it. It could be laser assembly, a graphics processor, anything. Honestly, I would just buy a new used one because by the time you figure out what's wrong with it or even find a part for it you probably have exceeded the cost for another used unit. The Saturn is so OLD and so outdated that "fixing" it just would not be feasible. Used units on Ebay go for around $25.00. Remember, the Saturn is one of Sega's line of failed systems, systems that either didn't sell very well or just worked like crap. Systems like the 32X, Sega CD, and TurboGrafx16. If I remember correctly these systems tried to compete with Sony's PlayStation one, but couldn't because of the impressive game lineup and it's hardware.

Why did Sega stop making consels?

Sony's revolutionary Play station has alot of power that cause many difficulties with Nintendo and sega to keep up, Nintendo took a different approch where sega filled up they Saturn with 2 processors and alot more power than game developers could manage and Saturn also wasn't well thoughts through which meant the cpus would work well with most games it had and couldn't harness the power it produced. The Saturn was to be released on confirmed date however, playstaion was to be released the week after so sega went after dominating the market before Playsation was released so they let out the Saturn before the release data which caused problems because shops weren't ready to sell because they weren't expecting a seriously close deadline and game developers never got a chance to meet the deadlines or to explore the Saturn capabilities, this lost most of the satisfaction and trust of sega's customers and 3rd party developers. furthermore since it became clear that it wouldn't be a successful console, sega of America announced that the Saturn isn't their future console which dropped sales dramatically. The PlayStation sold over 100million consoles which helped build a good repetition with sony's customers and 3rd party developers. it was also a great console to play and work with as it was very well designed and simple. the Dreamcast was released by sega which also has alot of power and many great features but because of sega's bad repetition with previous console, it was ignored by their customers, 3rd party developers and the stores who refused to sell........ their customers had moved on to the PS2 which ran for over 7yrs and dominated the market. sega was great and legendary but many things let it down which in my opinion wouldn't have happened if sega hadn't refused to work with Sony's proposal. Sega still produce games that include sega's mascot 'Sonic'

Do Sega master system games work on the Sega Genesis?

Actually, they do. The Mega Drive (or Genesis if you live in the USA) is backwards compatable. Originally, Sega released the Power Base converter in all regions. This is essentially an extention to the toploader that allows for a Master System-shaped cartridge to be attached. It's called the Mega Adapter in Japan and the Master System Converter in Europe. There is a second model for the Mega Drive MkII, but this is rarer and was only released in Europe. Some games may not work with the regular controler, so it may be necessary to switch to a Master System controler. But don't worry, they use the same ports. There is one game that doesn't work on the Mega Drive: F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Who is the better company - Nintendo or Sega?

Reasons why Nintendo is better company: 1. SEGA only designs games now, Nintendo still makes both consoles and games. 2. Nintendo was founded in 1889 and had business experience. When SEGA released the master system, they were 25-30 years old. Nintendo was 100. 3. SEGA ended up getting kicked out of the console business and went to work for their former enemy.
