There are taxis (although they are expensive compared to the general price of things), as well as Xe Oms (motorbike taxis) - which are usually half the price of a taxi. There are also trains and domestic flights for longer journeys.

It depends where you want to travel and how far you want to travel. if you want to Travel a short distance with in central London, Taxi is the best option, as they can pick you up anywhere and drop you off at your destination quickly, since they can use the Bus lanes in Central London.
There are more things for the light waves to bounce off of in water, so light can not travel in a straight line or as far.
