It always depends on the hamster mother on how many baby she has. A litter can be very small, about 2-3, but it can also be very big, ranging from 12-16 or so. The more babies there are, the higher the mortality rate will be. Luckily, a usual litter ranges from about 4 to 6 pups.

Hamsters usually have 5-14 babies. But usually 3-4 die because the mother kills it or you touch it and gets your scent on it!! i hope that helped you!! :)
