How many times did Jesus mention hell?

Well, a word search won't help you gather all of the instances that Jesus talked about Hell because Jesus didn't use the word "Hell" all the time, as demonstrated by Matthew 3:12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

And, Matthew 25:30,41 - And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. [...] 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

However, that being said, a word search yeilds the following:

So, by my count, there are 15 places in The Bible where Jesus is recorded as using the word "hell" while He was on Earth.

Now, if you include John's vision in Revelation 1:18--- "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death"---then, that would put the sum total at 16.

The word "hell" is a catch-all word employed by the English translators to cover their translations of four different words. It's used to replace the originally inspired words "sheol" in the Old Testament; "hades," "Gehenna," and "Tartaroo" (or 'Tartarus') in the New Testament.

The word "hell" has virtually a melting pot of meanings and intents, according to the translators of the English Bible. And Jesus never actually said, "hell."
