Do Dachshunds shed?
Yes! Long-haired Dachshunds shedding is much more noticeable, but it doesn't occur all the time. Short-haired Dachshunds shed year-round, but you can't really tell. I'm not sure about wire-haired ones, though.
Do long hair dachshunds shed?
Yes, they do, especially in summer months. I have two Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds and they shed quite alot unless you brush them frequently.

Less than many other breeds, but they do shed. The amount depends on the health of the coat, the amount of regular grooming, and the type of coat the dachshund has. Long haired dachshunds have more shedding, or at least it is more visible when they shed their long coats than the coats of short haired dachshunds. Wire haired dachshunds may show less hair around the house with regular grooming since the undercoat on wiry haired dogs can help to hold the loose hair on the dog instead of falling off on the furniture or floors, as long as it is regularly brushed.
