It varies based on the state or hospital. Usually the residents get a small raise each year. My starting salary year one is 43800. It will be around 50000 year five. Some schools in NY start above 50000. Some residencies with lower cost of living start in the high 30000's.

∙ 13y agoThey are getting paid around 50 grand to be trained. The 1st year Psych residents at the Psych Hospital I work at start at 48,000. Maybe it doesn't outweigh loans, but I would say that it's decent for basically a 4 year extension of school.

I see that is says medical school so the assumption is that your attending a medical school or about to enroll and need to know the cost of living for medical residents which varies per area your looking to live and the school your attending. It also depends on cost of living in the area, if the school has contracted living facilities, and if your single resident or family resident. If your speaking of medical residency such as the medical rotation in the hospitals as a medical student you will need to contact the facility and school managing this with the medical facilities. The price ranges again from facility to facility.
