Adrenaline is a breakdown product of Noradrenaline. Adrenaline is a hormone which is produced by the adrenal gland in the body. Tt is produced in periods of high stress or physical activity. When the adrenal gland produces adrenaline, it causes as increase in heart rate, also dilating blood vessels and air passages. This allows for an increased volume of blood to be pumped around the body at one specific time. Also as air passages are dilated, it allows for more oxygen to be breathed in at one time; thus providing the body with more energy, and similarly allowing more Carbon Dioxide; the waste product of respiration to be exhaled at one time. Therefore it is useful during exercise as the muscle require more energy; provided by oxygen during this time. The reaction from adrenaline being produced is improved performance for short amounts of time.

epinephrine acts upon adrenergic receptors, which contain alpha and beta receptors. You have two beta receptors, one for stimulating heart rate, and the other for inhibiting smooth muscle contraction (dilation), especially in the heart and lungs. Since you stimulate heart contractions with beta 1 receptors, blood pressure will increase via epinephrine stimulation.

It Depends on your activity

Like getting on a rollercoaster or getting scared by a dog will raise your heart rate and blood pressure in large increments

Epinephrine also known as adrenaline, stimulates the sympathetic nervous system in response to stress or other stimuli. It makes the heart beat faster and can raise blood pressure. It also helps the liver release glucose (sugar) and limits the release of insulin.

Epinephrine (adrenaline) usually brings the body alive during fight-or-flight or stressful situations. Once epinephrine is secreted by the body in the endocrine glands, it flows in the blood stream reaching various organ centers. It starts its operation by activating some strategically placed receptors in the body.

When epinephrine reaches the liver cells, it activates an α receptor there which initializes a chain reaction that culminates into breaking down of glycogen, releasing glucose, the energy packets of the body, into the blood stream. Simultaneously, it also activates the liver β receptors which again accelerates glucose production.

The β receptors are also present in the muscles. When they are activated by epinephrine, they cause the widening of blood vessels so that more blood can reach the muscles for efficient operation.

On the other hand, the α receptors in muscles, when switched on by epinephrine, cause the narrowing or constriction of smooth muscles, resulting in decreased blood supply in some parts and increases resistance to blood flow in the arteries. This makes the skin pale, as less and less blood reaches it and conserves body heat.
