I know from experience, so trust me, it works. Here's what you do- You need to get some Sprite. Dip the tip of your finger in it and close the eye that is itchy. Touch the corner of your eye that is closest to your nose with the "sprite finger". Then open that eye. Trust me, it should NOT sting at first! You shouldn't feel anything. After maybe 5 minutes, you will feel a tiny burn in that eye, but it does not hurt. After a minute or so, it will go away. I have done this on myself, and my 2 kids. We all agree that it does work. Thank you!
Firstly, maybe digestion or hereditary problems can be ruled out by a visit to the doc and some blood tests. Doctors are great at seeing whats already established in the body, and getting a blood test is great prevention. So go see if this is simply an indication that can be seen in the blood and before its on the way to something worse if not fixed straight away.
Get checked for Allergies. Certain machines are specifically designed for this, as is kinesiology - both can help not only diagnose, but can also assist with sorting allergies out.
As the eyes are sensitive, and any real problem (if there is one) might not be showing yet in the body, you may actually just be quite dehydrated, or prone to bad water osmosis or assimilation. In this case, you could check this out with a good kinesiologist who can balance the body energy to assimilate water again. Maybe make sure you are drinking enough water, too, and if you are drinking a lot and this isn't helping, the hydration balancing mentioned would be very helpful. Kinergetics kinesiology is the best I know of for fixing this. Also ensure you have enough magnesium (or minerals in general) in your diet.
If you are doing a lot of computer work or are near a lot of electrical equipment this could be drying your eyes out, which will ultimately lead to pain. I have found that it sometimes helps to have a bowl of magnesium by the computer to absorb some of the electrical emissions - when they turn chalky, replace the bowl.
Also I suggest you check with your optometrist or eye doctor to see if you have 'dry eye'. I had this, and it was so simple to use correct eye drops as well as doing the kinesiology I mentioned. Also if you are having eye strain, see if you can find someone who works with prism lenses to test your eyes and hopefully begin to improve them. Normal eye drops wont do the same as 'dry eye' drops.
Maybe give your eyes a rest when they burn, or try good old cucumber slices on them to 'cool' the burning.
Another thing is if there are family or personal issues to deal with. When we look at physical causes, we can't rule out other energy causes, such as the meta-physical. This means that there could be something else behind all of this that we haven't considered yet, and its not necessarily physical, such as a bang or knock. Perceptions, or how we view the world are often connected with the eyes, and 'how we see things', so maybe consider checking out what is painful for you to see in your life, or with those you love or care for. This may get you willing to start accept to some degree what is happening - because if its hard for you to accept something, you will be fighting it inside all the time, creating pressure on the eyes and brain, and so will have difficulty in finding a way forward. When you release this internal pressure, you might find some other options you hadn't been aware of before begin to present themselves.
Other practical and complementary ideas are trying acupuncture, homeopathy, iridology, herbs.
The eye is burning because it is either dry or there is a foreign substance in it. The burning is trying to stimulate the tear ducts to produce tears which would lubricate the eye and stop the burning. It's recommended to rinse the eye with a splash of water to get the substance out.

YES! I'm a swimmer and if you fill goggles with milk (the more fatty the milk the better) and hold it to your eyes it is instant relief. The fat molecules in the milk attach to the nerve endings in your eyes and stop the pain.
