Partial or residual disability benefits are paid when you can't perform all of your duties at your job, and have a partial loss of income.
If your loss of income is 75% or greater, you will be considered totally disabled and your benefits received will be 100% of your policy's benefits (there is some variation on this with different insurance companies).
