From what I have observed western clothing is generally acceptable in North Korea with the exception of jeans. Risqué or any clothing that stands out is most likely also frowned upon.

In addition it should be noted that, while not an "official" law, men are not allowed to grow their hair beyond 5cm in length, with the exception of balding men who are allowed to grow their hair out to 7cm provided they use the extra hair to comb over the bald spot.

The list of accepted men's hairstyles in North Korea include; "flat-top crew cut", "middle hairstyle", "low hairstyle", and "high hairstyle".
