Roosters, of course, don't lay eggs. Therefore,
their calcium requirements are much lower than laying
hens. Overdosing with calcium will have predictably
deleterious health effects, including kidney disease.
Chicken feeds are designed for the poultry industry,
where roosters are expendable. Nobody concerns
themselves with the longevity or health of the
rooster, because it has no effect on profit.
Therefore, there is no dedicated rooster feed.
Your best bet is a wild game bird feed, which does
not include a high calcium content. At Sunnyskies
Bird Sanctuary, we use Cochecton Mills Wild Game
Feed.
If you just want to maintain the bird you can feed him whatever the hens are eating, a layer ration, scratch, a broiler ration.
If he is a show bird you will want him to be in perfect condition and feather so a show chow will be important.
If you are raising him for meat, a high quality broiler ration will be needed.
Remember if he is free ranging in the summer and fall he will get most of his nutrition from what he can hunt and peck in the field.
Take this from past experience, chickens should eat chicken.
Other Rooster
they eat corn and grains even bread
NO, chicken feed does not contain this drug.
You can feed wheat bran to a rooster but you will need to feed other grains as well as the wheat bran. In most cases, roosters should eat a balanced diet that includes wheat, corn, and even oat grains.
No The laying mash or pellets are fine for the rooster. There really is no way to stop the rooster from eating the same things you feed the hens other than keeping them separated. My hens are fed laying crumble all year long and the roosters thrive on it.

A hen will lay eggs with or without a roosters presence. Without the rooster the eggs will be non viable or unfertilized. To assist in egg production you should feed the hens extra protein and minerals for healthy eggs. This is much easier done by purchasing a produce called Layer pellets or laying "mash". All feed and grain outlets can provide this for you on demand.

You do not need a rooster for a hen to lay eggs. A well feed, happy hen of appropriate age will lay about one egg a day. If a rooster is around the eggs will be fertilized and you get more chickens, if not you get yummy eggs to eat.

Taming a rooster is something that should be started when they are baby chicks by handling it frequently, feeding and watering by hand. If you are trying to work with an older bird it will need to be caged so that you can pick it up and feed it without it running away.
The best way to tame a rooster, or a chicken, is to hand feed them. If they wont come up to you to hand feed them, try again when they are hungry. Another thing to keep in mind is that the roosters nature is to protect the hens and, if they consider you a threat, they will act to defend the flock. Furthermore, some breeds are not good pets. Game chickens, as a rule of thumb, are more aggressive.
