What makes a person intelligent?

The ability to use intellect to solve problems. This does not mean the person has particular or even useful abilities. There are lots of extraordinarily smart people who can't make use of their talents. There are also people who are brilliant in a tiny range of abilities. Just be very good at whatever you choose to do.

its how good they listen to a teacher while at school and at home. {school} when your at school you have to listen to the teacher and behave plus concentrate.it also helps for you to help other people to only if you know what your doing.{home} if your at home watching a non-fiction show and you dont know what it is about. [just ask parents] the parents will help you and you will learn from your parents. then the next day you could tell your mates what a interesting show you watched yesterday.

Good answer I agree but just to add to it an intelligent person will see the importance of getting an education past high school and moving on to their bachelors,masters and Phd. Although a degree does not make someone entirely intelligent the person himself must never stop learning he must always read, watch documentaries and have a lot of experience to life which involves taking chances and learning from mistakes. In addition always look at everything in life objectively and always know that there's two sides to a story. Also use your brain don't take everything at face value if for example a pastor at church teaches a sermon, lecturer teaches a class, or a doctor gives you a remedy what they are saying could be right but you have the power to go deeper with research as you have access to the internet. My word of advice do not ever be afraid to challenge authority if you believe you may be right but only if the situation calls for it and don't insult anybody in the process rather make it a debate.
