Diabetes is a recessive gene and the allele must be present from both parents for it to appear. Most of the time it is past forty , female, overweight for type II . For juvenile diabetes it is present in both and mostly can be managed with treatment to live a full and active life.

No, type I diabetes is generally seen at birth , whereby the pancreas just simply does not secrete dijestive enzymes and insulin is needed help use up blood sugar from food. So basicly all with Type I diabetes , pancreas does not work for their body at all.
