The Stevens model 425 High Power was originally designed by John Redfield, it had a 22 inch nickel steel round barrel with 2/3 length magazine tube, side ejection port, blue finish and plain walnut stock and forearm. Stevens offered the 425 in .25, .30, .32, and .35 calibres and they sold approximately 26,000 between 1910 when the model was introduced and 1917 when production ceased. The models 430 and 435 were given better wood and checkering. Serial No. 1977 was probably produced in the first 2 yrs of production.
