∙ 9y agoDoctor Abul Qadeer Khan is a Pakistani nuclear physicist and founder of Pakistan's nuclear program. He was born in 1936 in Bhopal (now India). After partition of India, his family moved to Pakistan and settled in Karachi. A Q Khan obtained a degree in Metallurgy from Karachi University in 1960. In 1961 he went to West Germany for advanced studies in Metallurgy Engineering. He also studied in Netherlands and Belgium from where he earned his doctorate in 1972. He joined Pakistan's nuclear program in 1975. He continued to work in one capacity or the other with nuclear program till late 90s. He was blamed for nuclear proliferation in 2004 and was pardoned by Pakistani president Musharaf the same year. He lives in Islamabad now.
