The 1st ever Atomic Bomb blast was tested in the wee hours of of July 16th , 1945 in a Top-Secret operation codenamed "Trinity" scrutinized by the US Army. The whole operation was conducted from the city of Los Alamos in New Mexico, USA and the successful detonation of the bomb nicknamed the "Gadget" was the result of 3yrs of research and hard-work by top Nuclear physicist's headed by Dr.Oppenheimer working at the Los Alamos Lab, Dr.Hubbard in-charge of the Weather, and Gen.Leslie Groves the military head of the "Manhattan Project"which involved thousands of people from various related fields since it's inception.
Among the few locations that were shortlisted for the ideal blast site which included an Army Base in the Mojave Desert, near Rice, California, the final choice for the Trinity blast site lay in an isolated location 100km southwest of Alamogordo city of New Mexico situated in the "Jordana del Muerto" desert basin.
With it's huge success and following the Potsdam Conference, President Harry.S Truman ordered the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th and 9th respectively in an attempt to end the 2nd World War.
