Oswald and Ruby discussed going in on a land deal together. Financing was arranged but at the last minute Oslwald
got cold feet and backed out of the deal. Ruby was furious but after a few months the two got back on fairly friendly terms. Then Oswald visited a strip club run by Ruby. Apparently there was an argument between the two men though it is not clear what the topic of disagreement was. Oswald remained at the club and began to "put the moves" on Ruby's favorite stripper (it is not clear if Oswald did this to spite Ruby or if it was just coincidence). Regardless, Oswald ended up taking the stripper home with him that night and I think we all know what went down between them. Anyways, it is reported that Ruby vowed he was going to "teach that guy (Oswald) a lesson." You know the rest I assume.
(Actually, there is no evidence that Ruby and Oswald knew each other, but it was a fun story, wasn't it?)
Some Believe that Jack Ruby was one of many people that made a plan to kill JFK and when Lee Harvey Oswald was caught, Ruby didn't want Oswald to say anything saying he was in the job to kill JFK, so Jack Ruby snuck
into the Police station grabbed a gun from one of the officers holster and shot Oswald.
(Actually, he used his own pistol, and if Oswald had not stalled, he'd have been gone long before Ruby even showed up. So if there was a conspiracy on this point, Oswald was in on it! And there has never been reason to think Oswald did not act alone. It was, after all, a one-man
job.)

remarkable that while he was in custody immediately following the shooting in the basement of the Dallas PD, Jack was extremely nervous -- sweating and unable to relax. He was offered a cigarette by one of the detectives which he took (odd because Jack, being something of a health nut, didn't smoke). A few minutes later they told Jack that Oswald had died on the operatinng table, whereupon he suddenly and amazingly became quite calm, laid the cigarette down and assumed a demeanour that suggested great relief.
During and after his trial, Jack let it be knownthat the truth would one day be revealed, intimating he knew far more than what he had revealed. The only reporter who interviewed Ruby was New York newspaper columnist, Dorothy Kilgallen
who was also a TV game show panelist on CBS's
"What's My Line." Jack may have imparted too much information to Kilgallen --
enough perhaps, to implicate important people as conspirators. For not long after that interview, Kilgallen
was found dead in her apartment of an apparent drug overdose. It has been speculated that the JFK assassination conspirators chose to silence Kilgallen
before she was able to publish Ruby's revelations in a book she had begun to write. But there was never any trace found of her manuscript.
